Torquay - an all year round dog friendly destination

In the last few years Torquay has become an increasingly dog friendly destination and is now an ideal place to have a short break with your canine companion.

From the end of September to the beginning of April all beaches on the English Riviera welcome dogs. This includes Torquay's main beach Tor Abbey Sands.

From 1st May to the end of September some beaches do have restrictions but many do not. Furthermore there are plenty of alternative places for dogs to get some exercise. Cockington Country Park is superb and there is a dog friendly pub in the village as well as a superb dog friendly tea rooms - Weavers.

 

Dog Friendly Visitor Attractions for short breaks in Torquay

Torquay and The English Riviera have a number of all year round dog friendly visitor attractions. These include National Trust Properties such as Coleton Fishacre and Agatha Christie's Greenway. (Dogs are not permitted in the houses ).

Babbacombe Model Village welcomes well behaved dogs on leads as does Bygones in St Marychurch.

 

Dog Friendly Places To eat on short breaks in Torquay

It has become extremely easy to go out to eat accompanied by your four legged friend pubs and restaurants such as The Waddling Duck  and The Kent's in the Wellswood area of Torquay are very dog friendly. The Thatched Tavern at Maidencombe just outside Torquay is another incredible dog friendly venue.
